"Our Lustron in Des Moines, Iowa was the Lustron
model home for west of the Mississippi. We have original press clippings,
books.
We’ve owned it about 18 months and I believe just the third
owners. Someone replaced the kitchen cabinets and added an air conditioning
unit in the hall closet prior to us, but otherwise, I believe the
house and garage are very original.
We updated
while hopefully responding to the original design intent with
stainless steel countertops, flooring...It’s cold in the
winter but otherwise we love it, while we live a downsized lifestyle
with our two dachshunds. "
